Are you tired of the classic potato fries and want to try something creative and new? Try this delicious mushroom oven-baked fries and you will have your new favorite appetizer! They are so easy to make and super crunchy and crispy. But let me tell you that the best part comes with that horseradish sauce, and you will enjoy them dipping in the rich and flavorful sauce. You can serve them as a side dish for a family or friend’s gathering, but also you can eat them just as they are. Either way, you are going to love this recipe.

Ingredients

Oven Baked Mushroom Fries

  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 3 tablespoons Parmesan cheese grated
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 20 white button mushrooms cleaned
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • more salt and pepper to season flour
  • Cooking spray

Horseradish Sauce

  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 Tbsp prepared horseradish drained
  • 2 Tbsp mayo
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp chives finely chopped

Directions

Oven Baked Mushroom Fries with Horseradish Sauce

  1. Preheat oven to 400F/200C degrees. Line a baking sheet with non-stick foil and set aside.
  2. In a shallow dish combine the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

  3. In a separate shallow bowl whisk the egg together with the minced garlic.
  4. In another dish, add the flour and season with salt & pepper to taste.

  5. Make sure the mushrooms are completely dry.
  6. Coat each mushroom with a light coating of flour.
  7. Dip each floured mushroom first in the egg mixture, then fully coat with the breadcrumb mixture and place on the prepared baking sheet.

  8. Repeat with remaining mushrooms.
  9. Lightly coat the breaded mushrooms with the cooking spray.
    Cover Mushrooms w/ Oil or Cooking Spray
  10. Bake the mushrooms for 12-16 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm with a dip of your choice.
